Seattle Hempfest Essentials

2018 Hempfest

Hempfest, which has been operating since 1991, is a Seattle summer staple. Thousands of people from Washington and all over the country come to experience the largest, most sophisticated and socially responsible rally advocating for decriminalization of marijuana. Seattle Hempfest could perhaps be called the largest annual free speech event in the nation. This “protestival” will feature dozens of musicals acts, more than 100 speakers and about 400 arts and crafts, food, and informational vendors. This years event will be held at Myrtle Edwards and Centennial Park August 17th, 18th,19th with Fridays hours noon to 8 p.m, Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m to 8 p.m. Children are welcome to attend but please leave your pets at home. Here are some other tips to make your visit even more enjoyable:

Follow the rules: Hempfest does not allow alcohol, glass bottles, fireworks, drones, or propane torches. They also respectfully ask no camping, private sound systems, or unauthorized vending.

Purchase a locker: New to Hempfest this year is locker rentals. Keep yourself light on your feet and all of your personal belongings secure. Pack your locker with bottles of water, a hat, sunscreen, and a handful of lighters.  Locker rentals are $15 for a day. Purchase your locker here: www.entertainmentlockers.com/seattle-hempfest-2018/

Bring cash: Lemonade anyone? There are ATM’s on site but they come with a hefty fee and a long line. Some vendors do accept debit/credit but its better to play it safe and bring cash.

Be ready for crowds: If you suffer from anxiety it may be wise to medicate properly prior to attending and bring some CBD with you. Oakor CBD Slips are fast, effective and a discreet way to medicate before and during the event! Keep them on your persons or in your locker.

Wear comfy shoes: Myrtle Edwards park alone is 1.25 miles long. You will be doing a lot of walking and nothing kills your weed buzz more than sore feet.

Bring water: Hempfest does supply water throughout the event but lines can get long. The Puget Sound forecast Hempfest weekend is in the mid-80s with lows only hitting the 60s. Be vigilant and stay hydrated, bring your own ice water.

Stock Up: Make sure you’re fully stocked with edibles, pre rolls, flower, and papers. Swing by our Burien location next to SeaTac airport to pick up all your premium cannabis supplies. Don’t be that guy that didn’t bring your own buds to contribute to the biggest smoke session in the country.

Many of the cannabis rights we have today were born directly out the activism of this long standing protestival. If you have never attended Hempfest during its 27-year run, I strongly recommend you do. There really isn’t anything else like it in the world, and it’s free!
