Zkittlez, aka Skittlz or Island Skittles,  is an award-winning strain best known for its powerful flavor. The bud’s genetics were bred by 3rd Gen Family and Terp Hogs. The two producers crossed Grape Ape with Grapefruit to create an indica-dominant hybrid that tastes like candy. The delicious flavor of the Zkittlez won the strain the first place title at the 2016 Emerald World Cup, as well as placing in multiple Cannabis Cups throughout San Francisco and Michigan.

zkittlez Appearance

The Zkittlez strain contains large and chunky nugs. The bud is a dark green color with bursts of light greens throughout. Covered in a thick layer of white trichomes, the strain is super frosty just like the ground after a light snowfall. Bright amber hairs can also be seen throughout the flower.

The dominant terpenes in the strain are b-caryophyllene, humulene, and linalool. The result of this combination is a sweet, tropical fruit aroma with an earthy quality to it. The taste of Zkittlez matches the name, causing it to gain popularity as a strain that tastes just like candy.

Zkittlez Experience

On the inhale, users can detect a berry flavor with an after-taste of crisp citrus as they exhale. The Zkittlez strain is made up of around 20% THC. The THC level combined with the parent strains may cause users to experience an uplifting cerebral high followed by a calm sense of relaxation. The strain has been known to create a mild sleepy effect following the high.

For recreational users, Zkittlez may be a great option for getting creative, going for a walk in nature, or getting mundane work done around the house.

For medicinal users, Zkittlez may be beneficial in aiding health issues such as chronic pain, insomnia, and anxiety.
